After months of sketching, mixing inks and spending far too long deciding whether one shade of green is quite right (occupational hazard!), I'm so pleased to introduce my new Harvest Vegetable napkin collection.

This set is a little celebration of the kitchen garden and everything I love about growing, cooking and sharing food. Like many of my designs, the inspiration comes from much closer to home than you might expect. These illustrations are based on the wonderful vegetables grown on my dad's allotment in Norfolk, where every season brings something new to harvest.

From rows of sweetcorn standing proudly in late summer to the first crisp radishes of the year, there's something incredibly satisfying about vegetables fresh from the garden. I wanted to capture a little of that feeling and bring it to the table.

The collection features six different hand-drawn designs:

• Purple Cabbage

• Red Radish

• Yellow Sweetcorn

• Green Peapods

• Green Fennel

• Green Asparagus

Each napkin has its own illustration, so everyone around the table gets a different vegetable—although I can't promise there won't be arguments over who gets the sweetcorn!

From Sketchbook to Screen

Every collection begins the same way: with a fine liner pen and a blank sheet of paper.

I draw each vegetable by hand, taking inspiration from the wonderfully wonky shapes that nature gives us. There's something quite calming about slowing down and really looking at the details—the tight layers of a cabbage, the feathery tops of fennel or the neat little peas tucked inside their pods.

I always aim to keep my illustrations simple, letting the shape of each vegetable do the talking. It's amazing how much character you can find in something you'd normally chop up for dinner.

Choosing the Colours

If drawing is the relaxing part of the job, choosing the colours is where I become slightly obsessed.

I mix every screen-printing ink by hand, and I'll happily spend hours making tiny adjustments before I'm convinced a colour is exactly where it needs to be. The difference between "that's nice" and "that's perfect" is often just a drop of ink.

For this collection I wanted the colours to feel fresh, bold and full of life—just like a basket of vegetables picked straight from the garden.

The deep purple cabbage, bright yellow sweetcorn, crisp green asparagus and vibrant red radish all work together to create a colourful collection that's cheerful without feeling too loud.

Seeing all six designs lined up together after weeks of testing is always one of those lovely moments that makes all the experimenting worthwhile.

Printed by Hand in My Norwich Studio

Once the drawings are finished and the colours are mixed, it's time to start printing.

Every napkin is individually hand screen printed in my Norwich studio. It's a wonderfully hands-on process that hasn't really changed for decades. Ink is pulled through a screen by hand, one print at a time, before each napkin is dried, heat cured and carefully checked.

There's something incredibly satisfying about lifting the screen to reveal a fresh print underneath. Even after hundreds of prints, it never loses its magic.

Of course, there are also plenty of inky fingers, stacks of drying napkins and the occasional moment of wondering where I put the squeegee... again.

Made for Everyday Tables

I love the idea that beautiful things shouldn't be saved for special occasions.

These napkins are made to be used, washed and enjoyed over and over again—whether you're hosting a summer barbecue, serving up a roast dinner or simply making a Tuesday evening pasta feel a little more special.

Made from natural cotton, they're reusable, machine washable and a lovely alternative to disposable paper napkins.

They're also a perfect gift for keen cooks, allotment owners, gardeners or anyone who gets just a little bit too excited about spotting the first asparagus of the season.

Ready for September

I'm currently busy printing every set here in my Norwich studio, ready for delivery in early September.

Launching a new collection is always one of my favourite parts of the year. It's the moment when months of sketching, colour mixing and printing finally become something people can enjoy in their own homes.
